transfer iphoto pics

I have one mac with about 2000 pic on it and I need to get them on the other mac. I did that, but none of the pictures have the names that I had assigned them. The old mac has iphoto2.x and the new one 4.x. Do i have to rename every single photo or is there another way.

You might be able to copy the application data over to the new Mac. Look in ~/Library for an iPhoto directory and copy that over to the same location. I haven't tried this, so I have no idea if it'll work between versions like that...

I retried it jsut to humor myself, and copied all of the files instead of just the one directory file and it worked. THANKS a million. :)

(sorry about the somewhat rude post, I was frustrated to no end)
