I just got a Crucial M4 256 GB to replace the current OCZ 128 GB one my system is currently installed on. My plans are to just use Acronis 2012 boot cd and clone from the old SSD to the new one. Are there any gotchas I need to be aware of or is it really no different than any other imaging task?

Thanks kind of what I thought but never hurts to check. Lucky me the Crucial came with the latest firmware already installed.

I think you should use dispar to aligned the new SSD before clone. I not 100% sure it's really needed but it wouldn't hurt.

I've used Acronis 2012 now to migrate a few smaller SSD installs to larger drives. In every case, alignment was preserved perfectly. You're good to go, OP.

What are you doing with the OCZ? I've heard so much crap about them, I might be interested in getting one to use as a non-os drive to try out and see if all the drama is accurate.

Sorry, I am planning on using it as the system disk in my second system, I have not had a bit of problem with it since I built this machine. This upgrade was really for the extra space cushion I get with the 256.
