Hey.

I got Windows Media Encoder to transcode from .avi to .wmv, but everytime there's 5.1 (AC3) audio it transcodes into only 2 channels. Is there any way of making it transcode to 6 channels?

Is there another program that's able to do it?

Thanks.

Are you selecting "Multi-Channel Audio" for the Audio on the Compression tab?

you can try eac3to, it takes ac3 and ddp files and converts them into 6 mono wav files. Then you can enter "multichannel wav source" in windows media encoder and add each one manually. It's kind of a pain, but its the method I have to use to get my HD-DVD encodes to play on the xbox 360.

Try out encode360. I think it actually uses Windows Media Encoder to do the encoding. But it has a nice interface, you can setup batch encoding, and it is much simpler to setup than Windows Media Encoder. Plus it is free.

Here is the site Link It looks like the site is down right now but it should be back up before to long.
