The TSO is coming to my area in a few weeks and I'm thinking of getting some tix... My gf and I like their music but I've never seen them in concert and have no clue if it would be a good show to watch. Tix seem to be in the ~$45 range.

Any experiences? Is it worth going?

Definitive YES. Went last year with the gf, it was honestly one of the best concerts I've seen (and I've seen a few). Matter of fact, we are going again on the 13 of Dec. in Columbia. Nice family atmosphere, with some crazy metal christmas music.

Oh man it's a great show. I've seen it the last two years in Philadelphia. It's a GREAT light show if you're into that kind of stuff.

I'm in the same predicament as you. The tickets are rather expensive, but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Yes! I'll be going for the third time this year. Caught it several years back with my brother, and then last year with our entire family. I was surprised that even my mom enjoyed it thoroughly, as she tends not to like very loud stuff that much.

It's a really unique experience. The variety in the crowd they draw is astounding. I've seen families ranging from little kids all the way up to grandparents, people dressed in tshirts and jeans, people dressed in "church" clothes, and all sorts.

I went to see TSO first time ever last month. The ticket was $35 for a very good seat (10 rows back). The show was very good, the musicians played like they enjoyed it and no intermission. The lightshow/pyrotechnic was very nice.

The only thing that I didn't like was the heavy refer to Christianity. I went to see a concert, not to church, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, strongly recommend, especially if you never see them before.

If you like TSO, you might like Wind Machine. "Sketches of Christmas" or "Christmas"

I went last friday. It was incredible. Not only was the music amazing, but the lighting and other effects were awesome.

GO!

i saw last year's concert.

the xmas/holiday stuff i found to be long and frikkin boring as hell. the second half kicked major BOOTAY.

Joan Jett also made an appearance and did I Love Rock & Roll. That ruled.

it was a good show, but freakin LONG (like 3 hrs)

I like TSO, but I like the instrumental stuff better. The stuff with vocals doesn't do it for me.

I agree with this. The first part was some story about an angel and world peace or something. Kinda interesting, not really. The second half kicked was amazing.

TSO is awesome. If you have the means, go. Also, just for the record, my last name is Nay. Yeah, elementary school was fun.

Definitely check them out if you get a chance. I went to their Cleveland show last year. Whoever was doing the audio mixing needed a massive bitch-slap for having the levels too high, otherwise damn good.

Saw them two years ago in Anaheim (lived in Phoenix at the time), saw them this year in Wilkes-Barre PA (now live in DC - they always seem to come to my hometown when I'm out). Both drives (5 hours and 3.5 hours each way) were worth it, great show.... I mean it is a Christmas themed concert, so if the idea of there being a "Christ" in Christmas offends you, then I guess you can say "too much Christianity"... :(
