I saw them for the first time last winter cause my mom got free tickets from the radio station because she advertises on it. THis thing really confused the heck out of me. I am not saying it was entertaining...but wow is it wierd. Its such a interesting concept. We saw them at Hershey and we could only make it half way through. I mean i think it wasl ike 2 hours in and then they said they were half done..I mean come on! I can only take so much.

I mean really...how did this come to pass. When i see or hear them i try thinking of how it all happend. Some old 80 rock band guys in a basement during xmas sitting around talking when one would say
"Man I want to rock"
"Yeah me too"
"But what should we rock about" as one looks out the window in a gaze at christmas lights with some orchestra music in the background
"Christmas!"
"Yeah lets rock out!"
as they jump into action, get their axes out and jump into their 80 gear

Sorry...that was bad
LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks the whole thing is kinda hokey 😱
but different strokes..

tell ya what ... i much prefer to listen to christmas music TSO style rather than that elevator music crap everyone else is playing.

Figures, the one night they are in Arizona is the same night I have a fancy Holiday party commitment.

I saw them last weekend. Kickass. Incredible laser effects and rocking guitar, what more do you want?

Out of curiosity, is it the kind of show you could tote a 3 year old along to...provided you're towards the back?

Not really. It's a rock concert for the most part, it's going to be a bit intense for a little tyke like that. There's nothing inappropriate, but even in the back I wouldn't take a child that young.

I'll be attending my first TSO show next Friday.. 5th row. I heard it gets a bit warm up front with the fire and stuff.
This should be a bit more relaxing than the usual Ozzfest and Slayer type shows I attend.

Anyone in the Portland OR area need 2 tickets for tonights show? I 'might' have 2 available. I'm still waiting on confirmation but I want a backup plan.

Fine, checked TM this afternoon and they had some Floor 1 seats so I'm in for 3:00 in Sacramento. My wife will love this pop schlock. Electric guitars and laser beams.... If anybody near me starts playing an air guitar, though, I'm outta there.

Oh don't be so bitter. It's a really fun show if you can appreciate rock and christmas music, otherwise you're probably in the wrong place in the first place.😛

It was a great show. We were 10 rows back we could feel the fire they lit off towards the end. Our almost three year old would have loved the show if we were little further back.

I'm not really big on concerts and it's not really my type of music, but I knew this group would be one of the few bands that would sound better in person than on record.....and sure enough it was pretty amazing. They did their version of Carmina Burana from an upcoming record. Plus these guys were having fun and the crowd was pretty good.

It was a total surprise for my wife and she loved it. I told her an hour before the show that I had a surprise and we were going out, but she had no idea where we were going until we pulled into the Arco parking lot and even then I didn't tell her who it was until we got inside as Wizard In Winter was concluding.

Ah, so they're doing the same songs on the west coast tour as here in the east coast. Did they do the "uplifting" enccore of Carol Of The Bells (Sarajevo 12/24)?

I don't know if the orchestra brings their own sound mixer or hires whoever runs the mixer for the center, but that person did an awful job. They had the sound turned up way too high overhall, so instead of hearing the music you felt the music, and by the end of the show both my wife and I had problems hearing each other talk. They had the voices turned up so high that it occassionally cracked the speakers. The electric guitar was turned up so high that you had trouble making out the individual chords, and it completely drowned out the orchestra.

Good to hear I'm not the only one that heard the same thing with the audio. I saw them this past Saturday (Dec 3rd) and I was picking up the same thing with the audio. It was just a little bit too loud, causing quite a bit of distortion. It may have been due to where I was sitting and the acoustics of the arena (sports arena setup). Next year I'm gonna try for floor seats and see if that takes care of the mixing/audio problem. Aside from that, great show.

It was a good show, but I had some problems with it.

We went to see it in Wilkes-Barre, at the Wachovia center. The place was designed to watch sports, so all of the chairs are facing the field instead of the stage. By the end of the show both my wife and I had stiff necks.

The light, laser, and pyrotechnic effects were great. But I do feel bad for whoever sat upfront of the stage. They had some intense spotlights turned down at 90 degrees right in those people's faces at some times - they were only 6 feet away from them.

My opinion is that I enjoy my CD more than the show, and I know next time to buy tickets for seats on the opposite end of the field.

I had the same issues two years ago when I caught their Seattle show. As a result I now refuse to see them in Seattle, and go to the Portland OR show instead, which has always been nearly flawless.
