seppuku carries connotations of honor/honorable death, something a traitor definitely does not deserve

Nobody should convert to any religion. Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, it's all the same ours-is-true-yours-is-not nonsense. Islam is just the current pick of the militantly ignorant.

Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroshtrian-ism, Bahais, don't preach such nonsense. they don't proletyize (sp?), they don't say you will burn in hell if you aren't such and such, or that you SHOULD die if you are not such and such.
If I was forced to pick a religion, I'd go Buddhist. Overall religion today seems to be less about the teachings than it is about isolationism and which group can gather the most power and prestige.

No offense man but Hindus, especially the die-hard Indian nationalists, aren't exactly well known for their peaceful qualities.

Agreed. But lets compare how many 'die hard' Hindu/Buddhist/even christian militants are there? When was the last time you heard of them going around killing people all around the world? There is no point to debate this. With over 1,000 terrorist organizations, Islam needs MAJOR reforming. If you are disagreeing with this, you are being narrow minded.

SherEPunjab, no harm done my friend, I'm more worried about the fact that you've formulated a view on an entire peoples based on the action of several individuals. When a drunk driver crashes into another driver on the freeway, do you really fault the DMV for what it has supposedly taught to this driver? Or do you knock on the driver's door and ask him why he/she did not follow the rules to which they'd agreed to adhere to when getting behind the wheel?

Peace

"Why did we arrest him? Wouldn't a friendly fire "accident" be enough? You know, have him do somthing in the middle of an open field and have a tank crew just kind of shoot him by accident? Then arrest the tank crew and quietly never charge them, returning them to duty. Maybe quietly promote them. "

anyone catch this

Ryan G. Anderson, 26, signed onto extremist Internet chat rooms and tried to get in touch with al-Qaida operatives, offering the organization information on U.S. military capabilities and weaponry.

WTF? He tried to do it over the internet? What kind of idiot do we let into the military?

What'd he do? Google for "al qaeda chat"?

Or maybe he just join #teenchat on EFnet. They're both equally stupid.

Oh, and by the way, I'm totally with the government on this one, if a dude claims to be fighting for one side, stick to that side dammit, don't be jumpin ship on your fellow soldiers, that's just lame. My only argument is with SherEPunjab's calling for the reformation of Islam, and saying nobody should join Islam because 2 or 3 guys have problems in distinguishing which side they're fighting for.

And by the way SherEPunjab, here's 3 minutes worth of research work on Hindu/Christian terrorist/militia groups:

Christian Militia Groups
Christian Terrorist Groups
Continued
Hindu Militia Groups
Hindu Terrorist Organizations
Hindu Terrorist Groups

What this shows me is that there's wackos in EVERY ethnic/racial/creed group, only certain groups/individuals are getting more media coverage than others.

Nice, any from reliable sources?

edit: and read the search results of your own links. many of them are actually pointing to Islamic terror organizations....

edit: and i didn't say that you shouldn't convert because of 2 or 3 guys. Because of 9/11, because of whats happening in Chechnya, because of what happened in Kenya, Yemen, because what is happening in the phillipines, Indonesia, Bali, India, Israel... this is not 2 or 3 people. this is millions, if not direct fighters, supporter, sympathizers, donators, etc. etc.. there are good and bad people of every faith, but i wonder how many bad people of other faiths actually go out and kill people because they are not of their faith.

^ LOL, I did read them, you're already against the Muslim peoples of the world, so I figured you'd tune it out regardless. Just trying to show you that not every Hindu/Christian/whatever is an Angel, just as with every Muslim. We're all humans, we all eat, drink, and defecate the same (at least, I hope) :) Unfortunately, not every supposed follower of a religion is that (a follower) of the religion, and as such, we have militant people taking up arms falsely calling their quests religious wars.

I'd put money on it that this guy is one of those "but I joined for the college money" assclowns too, on top of being a recently converted Muslim. He'll get what's coming to him.

Atif, again, need some reliable sources on the Terror groups of other faiths... and not just a bunch of old men shouting down with Islam, but an organized network of people spanning different ethnic groups, languages, [all of the same faith though], working together to kill people merely because they are of a different faith.

edit: and what happened in Gujurat, India was really bad, but it was not terrorists. it was stupid civilians going around rioting. it was a riot, not a pattern of cyclical and well planned out [and armed] attacks to ethnically cleanse populations...

^ Are you serious? LOL. And yourself shouting out "Nobody should convert to Islam." THIS is a VERY founded statement, with heaps of non-biased factual backing? Oh my. Please don't try and link a story about a traitor (who again, deserves to be punished for what he was trying to do) with an ill-founded belief that all Muslims are out to kill those not of the Islamic faith. You want to see what ethnic cleansing is? Look at what was done TO the Muslims by the Bosnians in the mid 1990s, done TO to the Muslims by the Serbians in Kosovo several years ago, and what was being done to the Muslim civilian population in Iraq during the embargo by way of depleted uranium shells dropped in Iraqi deserts. If you don't believe the photo evidence of that, then please ask people like my Uncle who returned from service in the Desert Storm operation and are now suffering from Desert Storm/Gulf War syndrome, side-effects of the depleted uranium and other radioactive substances soldiers were exposed to in that operation.

I think you should stray from your own worldview for a minute and try to get both sides of the story regarding Muslims before spewing your own hate for Muslims (as a whole no less) on a public message board. Sher of Punjab, huh? I take it you're still mad at Emperor Jehangir for all the wrongs he supposedly committed against the Sikhs too? I take it you're also blaming the Muslims for the widespread butcherings that took place in the state of Gujarat last year as Indian Police stood by taking no action? But yes, the actions of as you put it the "3rd... traitor" deems worthy your statement that "Nobody should convert to Islam" RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. Carrying a dagger at all times in the Pagri is not a threat to anybody? Okay. :) Whatever you say, LOL

screw the muslims. how many religions these days have schools dedicated to teaching their kids to hate and kill?

What schools are you referring to whose curriculum states that hatred and killing are the fundamental subjects to be taught? I've yet to see any school in America or abroad that suggests Muslims go out and blindly hate and/or kill people. Clarification is needed, because it seems as though you've made a baseless statement simply to act as (false) support for the first part of your reply "screw the muslims"

That's a pretty big blanket statement. Yes there are fundamentalists, but so what? Most major religions have had violence in their histories... I think that Muslim "schools", so to speak, should be monitored... The 20/20 where the girl interviewed said, when I grow up I want to blow up a military base, was quite disturbing. But all in all, it was probably taught by the parents and not the school. Hate breeds hate, just remember that.

At least 8 factions of every major religion out there. (Christianity included. Can we say "abortion clinic bombings"?) The only reason the Muslim factions are so high-publicity is because they just flat out hate America. (Not all Muslims, just the whack-job extremists)

Anyway, I actually heard about this on NPR. (Local radio has gotten so bad NPR is more enjoyable) Sucks for him. Of course you have to wonder exactly how much information he could have possibly given being in the National Guard. :p
