What was the best training you've received at an employer - and how did they deliver it (i.e. 1-on-1, interactive kiosks, etc)? I'm working on developing some interactive Flash movies to help employees learn certain aspects of our distribution software and was curious as to what you guys thought have been effective learning tools.

I've had countless hours of training, but none of which would be useful to you.

We do in-house training for new employees on our ERP software. A dedicated trainer conducts the classes in a lab/training/lecture room environment where each employee sits at a workstation. It's really a lot like taking a technical class.

Through what medium?

Classroom training using powerpoint slides and/or reading materials.

Hands-on practical training in small groups and/or one-on-one.

Step-by-step walkthroughs of procedures (including physical tasks and filling out forms).

Continuing on-the-job training.
