The train he jumped from didn't look to be moving. So unless the stopped train derailed on top of him I like his chances.

It was moving as you can see the engine slowly closing on the switch...but I doubt it was moving much faster than 5mph or so.

That would be a crappy decision to make, there is a chance that he would have gotten crushed either way if the train derailed.
