Trailer Registration Question

Just bought a trailer and the tags aren't registered to me (obviously) and are expired. Does the title, or bill of sale serve as adequate paperwork for me to drive it home, or around for a few days, at least? Anyone with experience here?

p.s. I live in Illinois
