Because of that, I really have trouble looking at these people as human beings, and I'm not moved by your photos. As far as I'm concerned, if Hamas is exterminated, the world will be a better place for it.

Agreed, they are the elected officials, and have re-started a war with Israel, any response against the palistinians is completely justified, regardless of suffering. I would expect the US to do the same if Mexico lobbed bombs into Texas. Act civilized, work out a civilized truce and stick to it and your problems are eliminated.

I'm all for peace and the majority of Palestenaian's and Israeli's are for peace. The only problem is Hamas has declared its mission as killing all jews and have acted on that declaration by firing rockets at the general population.

What kind of response would be "acceptable" to those who believe Israel is over-reacting?

It is sad that anyone is dying. All it takes to end the deaths is for Hamas to stop launching rockets at Israel, but they refuse to do so.
