If there is a 4 way intersection and 4 cars pull up to each part at the exact same time:

-a police car with sirens flashing
-an ambulence with sirens flashing
-a mail truck
-a normal car

Which one has the right of way?

ANSWER:

Some of you are very smart but the rest need to go to driving school ;)

The answer is the mail truck because it is federal (good going redgtxdi)

Even if there is a guy shooting people in the face 50 ft away from the intersection, some Joe Shmo's junk mail is more important than peoples safety and lives.

well i imagine the mail truck and normal car should have to pull over to let the police car and ambulence go, so im gonna go ahead and guess ambulence, but im probably wrong for some stupid reason.

Well, I voted "ambulance" for assuming that "medical emergency" takes priority, but there's another tier I'm thinking of.

Normal car.......(no rights. Get out of the way a-hole) LOL!!

Then the other 3 go in this manner.........

Mail truck = Federal Vehicle
Ambulance = County (or private which makes it what ?)

Then the wild card.......

Police = (city, county, state or fed)

Could be city P.D.
Could be county Sheriff
Could be State Trooper
Could be Federal Trooper

And if it was a Federal Trooper, would it mean that the mail truck & Fed would smash into eachother??

In that case..........we're back to the ambulance with the roller & mail truck on fire in the middle of the intersection..........LOL!!!

The answer is the mail truck because it is federal.

I don't think that's the way it works in Florida.

Here no one ever has the right of way. The laws only say which vehicles must yield the right of way. And the law here says that ALL vehicles must yield to emergency vehicles giving audible or visible signals. The mail truck and the car would have to yield to the police and ambulance and those two would have to duke it out.

I think the ambulance would have to yield to the police car. If an ambulance arrives at the scene of a shooting they have to wait for the police to make sure the scene is safe first right? So if the two vehicles were headed to the same scene the ambulance would haveto yield to the police.
