Traffic Lawyer Experiences

I'm shopping for a traffic lawyer right now, spoken with three different ones today. I'm most impressed with the answers and solutions from the most expensive one, thru what I believe is a larger firm, but their fee is $500 + court costs.

The other two firms I talked to both want about about $300 + court costs, but personally I'm less confident in them.

Anyone seen a correlation or have general experiences to draw from? $500 is a small amount to keep my insurance from going up, for numerous reasons of course, and I feel most confident with this lawyer thus far; just wondered if anyone had input.

If it's any comparison, some years ago a friend got arrested for something to do with drugs. He was in a parked car, don't remember the exact details, but the police saw something and arrested him. He got a small-town lawyer who told him the courts were absolutely not reducing charges on any drug offense due to public pressure.

He then got a big downtown law firm who charged 5x the money, and in court it was reduced to disorderly conduct (misdemeanor). He says there are times when a more expensive lawyer has either more skills or better connections to help a client.

If it's something worth getting a lawyer for, it's probably something worth getting a good one for 😉 .

Kranky's right about the connections. A lawyer with connections is more successful than one with an innocent client.

Talked with another guy whose fee is $450. Gave me a better feeling than the others (cept the $500 guy), but I think I'm still leaning towards the $500 lawyer. I think I'm gonna call him to setup a meeting Thurs or Fri, get a better feel. We'll see
