Traffic court

Queasy

Two hours. Two hours it took just to pay the fine at the traffic court. Ugh.

Anyways, what's with people not dressing at least halfway decent when they come before a judge? Does it take that much effort NOT to wear shorts and a shirt that barely covers your belly, Mr. Fat guy? Is your wardrobe only limited to shirts with sayings like "Be Nice To The Lunch Lady", Punk Boy?

Oy!

when i went to traffic court there were guys in orange jumpsuits and shackles there. i'd rather it were just Mr. Fat guy in shorts and a shirt.

Weak rant, but I hear ya. Guess those people don't care much about getting their goal accomplished

I dunno. Its not even about getting a goal accomplished as it is about basic decorum and respect. I guess I'm just old-fashioned. I've never even stepped foot into a court room before today and I knew better than to walk in wearing a baseball cap with my pants barely hanging on to my butt.

And you're totally right. If I ever have to go to court, I'm going in a decent suit and I'll have a haircut beforehand. It may not change anything, but it can't hurt and it's respectful.

LOL...actually, I wore slacks and a nice button-up shirt. And yeah, I still felt over-dressed next to 90% of the people in the room (excluding the judge and lawyers)!

I've been dealing with traffic court for the past few months and each time I went into the courtroom I've been the only one with a suit.
Last time I went in I had a dress hat(taken off in the court room) and cuff links.

In the courthouse I was in they actually have a sign that says no hats. Talk about some quality people coming in.

I have a court date in a week. I usually wear a suit, but I haven't had to wear a suit in so long that I know my suit doesn't fit anymore. I plan on going in khakis and a solid polo shirt. It's an $80 ticket, so i'm not buying a new suit just for court. I do know what you mean, though. i've seen people in traffic court in jeans and a t-shirt--these are normally the people that are going to lose their license no matter what they wear, though.

I saw a friend of mine and he said something along the lines of, "you look like a pimp, I'm surprised they didn't throw the book at you."
