Is it possible if i already have settled shares of a certain company 'A' to sell shares of 'A' buy shares of 'B' then sell 'B' before the settled date (about two days after)?

Only with a margin acct I beleive.

A cash account will probably bounce the transaction.

Scottrade allows you to do that with a cash account and i'm not sure how they get away with it. I thought it was against SEC regs???

man, this really sucks, i wanna get in to buy some stocks that are reporting earnings on tuesday, but if they tank i can't get out in time.
