After driving my mustang as my primary driver for 8 months, it was just too rough to drive and while a short throw shifter is fun on the weekends, in stop and go traffic it is a pain in the ass. Did some research on getting a peppy sedan and ended up on a 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan with 7 speed automatic. It's in gorgeous condition for its age and has 92k on it. Inside is pristine except for the steering wheel corners (which seems common to have the paint rub off).. my only question is will I be able to take the hideous cover off the moonroof without damaging the paint and or having the paint look odd?

I got it for $10k flat and $5k after trade in..how did I do?

one other thought I had, should I have gotten the extended warranty? There is no warranty on the car aside from the dealers 1000 mile 3 day warranty

My buddy, who buys nicer-brand used cars like yours, always gets the extended warranty.

How do you like the 7-speed?

Which Mustang did you have before? I'm trading in my lemon Jeep late summer this year & the 6G is on my list. Currently leaning towards an automatic Ecoboost with TACC (I sit in traffic a lot too). Yeah, a 4-cylinder non-stick-shift sounds like a travesty for an American muscle car, but I actually really enjoyed the test-drive, especially now that they have IRS.

I had a 2004 GT 40th anniversary with 70k miles. I loved it, but it was not a comfortable ride. Its like night and day between the two cars and makes me sad my new one is actually faster. :p

Congrats on the new ride! I had a g35 sedan and really loved it. I have a 2003 mustang GT now so I get why you decided to switch. It would be rough to use daily. If you have to give up a mustang for practical reasons the G37 is one of the best options. It's a 4 door pony car.

Get the extended warranty. My boss is having issues with his Infiniti (it might even be a G37 as well) that caused him to do some searching around. The engines are nice but can also develop issues if not properly maintained, and it's hard to know what was done before you got it.

so, one problem I have run into with the cars I get it making them too upgraded and then getting rid of them when I should have just left them stock.. that being said.. any upgrades I should consider or just leave it completely stock?

Congrats, I picked up an 08' G35x almost 2.5 years ago. It had 99k at the time and the only maintenance outside of brakes were two oxygen sensors. The housings on the catalytic converters are rusting out (WI winters) and recently hose clamped them back together. I had to replace 2 of the TPMS sensors as they developed slow leaks....apparently TPMS sensors cannot be fixed when they leak?? Overall i've been really happy with it but do miss my old Tundra when I go camping. I had a hitch put on just so I can use a bike rack or cargo carrier when needed.

Congrats on the new car and making that successful transition of changing cars. Another avenue to look into in the future when selling your car could also be selling your car at an auction. I know that Capital Auto Auction hosts weekly live auctions that you could check out to see if that option might be able to get you a better price.

My wife has a 2008 G35X and I have a 2008 G37S and we both love our cars. We've both owned them for about 5 years and neither of us have had any major issues. I have 102k miles on mine and she has like 62k or so on hers I think.
