Trade potential? And thoughts

I've had my 2009 ninja 250 posted on craigslist and just got an offer from a guy that I'm pondering. He's trying to sell a 2002 mustang gt to buy the bike and offered to trade straight across.

Here's his craigslist ad.
http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2051265221.html

Haven't gone to look at it yet but he was willing to drive it to meet me.

I was thinking get it and use it as a project car so to speak. Learn to do some stuff to it. Or just fix it up and drive it. Also it's an auto.

Thoughts and opinions?

TIA

Auto = fail, though if you wanted to learn how to do a transmission swap it would be a good excuse.

Make sure "alignment is messed up" isn't really "bent suspension and/or axle"

Other than that... it would be a fun project car I'm sure.

Door messed up from hitting a curb...? That's a serious hit. Or a wall....

The smoked taillights are fail and it needs matching wheels..book on an 02 GT in 'fair' condition is $5k, though. Take a look at it in person and see how it is!

If I was selling a car to pay for college, I don't think I'd be interested in a trade on a bike. The guy offering the trade seems somewhat unstable, or he's a liar.

There's no way that it's worth doing a transmission swap.

Depends. If he is going off to college it's a lot easier most places to park a bike that a car. I would pass regardless that car looks trashed.

Yeah, that seems shady as heck. I mean, why is the window right next to the driver's door lock busted?

Also, he states that the door is misaligned and that the alignment is off from hitting a curb. This means he has torqued the frame of the car slightly, and given that it's a unibody I would not want to be near that car. I have enough trouble with tie rods on my car from when the PO hit a deer with it.

Wouldn't hurt to go see it if you are really interested in it.

Since you posted an OKC CL ad, I'll assume you are local to me, I'd go check it out with ya.
