If you're talking about locally, there are places that you may donate old computers to and you can write it off on your taxes.
 
I want to do locally, but i don't want to donate. I just want to get trade in in a computer store so that i don't have to pay much money.
 
Computer stores that do trade-ins generally don't give you anywhere near the value of the parts and usually do not carry up-to-date hardware. Whatcha selling? 🙂
 
Might wanna check and see if there's any computer shows coming up in your area... kinda like a swap meet type of thing.
