TRADE ADVICE: PVR250 for an ATI HD wonder

Well, a friend of mine jumped the gun and got himself an HD wonder, and now he want to trade me for my PVR250 instead of returning it.

I love the PVR250's quality, the ultra-low cpu utilization, and of course the fact that it works with Beyond TV.

I would otherwise turn him away except for the HDTV option the card has. I have a 2500+barton, 1GB RAM, and a 9800pro, so I hink I might be able to run it quite well on my Dell 2001fp.

Basically, I know all the numbers and such, but in the end, I am still at a loss..

Should I trade and forfeit the vid quality and the cpu cycles for HDTV...?🙁

You need both cards for a good quality HTPC.
The PVR_250 is cheaper at about 130 bucks.
Not sure which AIW he got so check prices and make the deal if you are getting the more expensive card.
Go out and buy the cheaper one and you will have both and have a happy friend.

I think there is a misunderstanding. I have, and have had a PVR250MCE for quite some time. He jsut purchased an ATI HD wonder, and wanted to trade for mine + $50 of my money.

In the end, it looks like the TV wonder might not fit my requirements. My shuttle box only has 1 PCI and I was not planning on purchasing anything extra, much less a $200+ USB2 PVR2.

I'll try it out and report back
