just heard at the end of Sportscenter that Tmac is going to give up his starting all-star spot to Michael Jordan in his final year. Nice gesture and Tmac's climbing my charts on respected guys in the NBA. Remember what he did for the kid in the sniper shootings?

Vince Carter should be hanging his head in shame for not taking the same gesture.

update: Jordan turns down McGrady and Iverson's offer. (Still no Vince Carter offer)

Jordan turns down start

It's Vinsanity!!!! :confused::p:D

I always thought McGrady was infinitely more talented than Vince as a player anyways. TMac's taking is personality as a public figure seriously and trying to show some class. More than I can say for a certain player on the West Coast...

Fvck Jordan..

He is only doing this so he can keep his endorsement money PHAT

He is also hoping to score enough points to surpass Kareem in total All Star Game points -- he needs 18 points to be #1

Are you talking about Kobe? What has he done to shaft the public? He does lots of stuff here in LA, but you get East Coast media only.

T-MAC is a great guy.

I was very happy when he went to visit the child in the Hospital.

The MAgic would have the best record in the NBA if Grant Hill was healthy.

I thought MJ said he didn't want to play in the All Star game anyways since he was feeling his age?

I guess it could also be a "not willing to admit you're too old" type of thing...

Good for McGrady. :)

Stackhouse is the best player on his team. Why didn't he get to go to the All-Star game?

Jordan is going to get his endorsement money regardless? Or maybe you know something else?

Still a classy move. I still think Vince should sit out he hasnt done crap this season except spend time on the IL.

I also think they should change the voting structure around 1/3 fans 1/3 media/press and 1/3 players. The reserves still being chosen by the coaches.

Very nice gesture by TMac. V. Carter doesn't belong in this years all-star game, but it is just a popularity contest.

Nice gesture. I admire him for showing respect for the game.

However, if people wanted to see Jordan start, I would imagine they would have voted him on as a starter.

Agreed. Voting in all sports is stupid and I really believe it should be left up to the Coaches and Sportswriters.

lol, no kidding....

i agree that this is a respectful move by T-Mac. Seeing him talk about that kid in the sniper shootings, and what he did for him, I've got new found respect for McGrady.

Why the hell do people even bring that up for All star contests? IT'S A GAME FOR THE FANS!. Jesus, this has been explained in every freaking sport every year yet some wanna-be purist complains about it.

Even though he always seems to drop bombs on the Knicks, I admire him for this gesture especially since he was the 2nd highest vote-getter overall and tops in the East.

forget this season, Vinsanity hasn't done much for the last 3 season. the scoop on him is, they say he is more intereseted in playing video games than he is in rehabing. he's a lazy ass. at least kobe tries to stay at the top of his game.

if you were to compare vince and kobe on talent alone i think vince matches up but when you add desire kobe all the way baby.

I don't think Vince was playing video games while he was injured.

I think he was on the computer voting for himself over and over!
