Tracking outbound links in google analytics

So I'm tracking outbound clicks in Google Analytics with this: http://www.google.com/support/....py?hl=en&answer=55527. The problem is the outbound clicks show up as page views in analytics, basically screwing up the rest of my stats. Is there a way to separate the two so outbound clicks are not counted as a page view.

Kind of related, when I look at the detailed description of the clicks on the outbound links it tells gives me a time. Does this really reflect the time a user spends on the external page? And if it does how can google track something that happens off site?
