Tracking my newegg order through Fedex...

It says: Estimated delivery date Apr 8, 2005 by 4:30 pm ...

But, it already arrived to Minneapolis, MN (where I live) tonight:

Package status

MINNEAPOLIS MN

Package in FedEx location

Does this mean it will arrive the 7, tomorrow, instead of the 8th?

Depending on where you live, and where it shipped from, sometimes it does come in a day earlier than the estimated date..thats why it's called an estimated date. If it's in the sort facility near you already, they there's a good chance you can get it early.

It should arive tomorrow. I just got a New Egg shipment and it was a day early. It arive in my city the evening before and was delivered today even though the estimated said tomorrow. Estimated is just that. Estimated. With FedEx at least they seem to be ahead of schedule a lot of times I use them.

Coolio, should I call them to be sure tomorrow? Because I wont be even home all day damn work.

Can I leave them a msg, saying that my front door is unlocked to just open it and leave the packages inside? Its a good neiborhood but I cant trust those damn skateboarding kids

Fedex Saver is 2-3 days. So they always estimate 3 days.

And sometimes since it is not scheduled for delivery until the 8th, they will let it sit on a shelf for another day and then deliver it on the 8th. No clue what causes them to do this sometimes, but I have ordered a lot of stuff from the egg and watch the FedEx tracking progress diligently.

Nothing like getting your hopes up that you get new hardware to play with and wait all day for the FedEx truck that never shows.

I'm about 99% sure that Newegg requires Fedex to get a signature before dropping off a package, so I would assume that they won't just leave it for you.

Or what is worst. Not expecting the package till tomarrow. When ur in the shower you hear the door ring and by the time u run down u see the little card on ur door saying to come pick it up or wait till tomarrow. Basically u end up waiting an extra day for something u could have had sooner.

i've had fedex hold my package for a day because it was not supposed to arrive til the day after next. they wouldn't let me pick it up or anything, it was on HOLD because it was shipped saver and i didn't pay for 2 day or whatever.

Just FYI, you can go to the FedEx station in your area and sign a release form which enables the carrier to leave the package wherever you specify on the form. (ie: backdoor, garage, etc)
