Tracking Dynamic IPs??

I'm a little freaked out by the RIAA and their hundreds of lawsuits that they're bringing up. OK here's my question. Since their software tracks down people who share files and reports the IP, by the time they ask the ISP for the user, will the ISP be able to track down who had which IP? I'm talking about dynamic IP's. Networking whizzes PLEASE HELP ME 🙁

yes, very easily. I work for an ISP. I have accountability for every single IP address, of which we have a little over 4,800, for every single minute going back over three years.

Anonymity exists solely because people like me don't have time look at hundreds of megabytes of logfiles a day. The second that I need to look you up, you are no longer anonymous in any way -- and it's the same way with *ANY* ISP that is worth a darn.
