Again, I did not write the article. My posting of it is because ATI fanboys like you seem to be calling out how available ATI is these days.

Uhh...no, I'm not constantly harping about the availability of the X1900. If you can prove me constantly doing so then show the many threads where I do so. Otherwise, it's just another one of your baseless claims which you can't back up.

For you to be calling someone else a fanboy is laughable. I'm relatively fair in my assessment of both companies though I do lean towards ATI. I don't make that a secret. However unlike you, I don't constantly start threads about the shortcomings of nVidia nor do I do so about ATI. I don't bash ATI in an nVidia discussion thread and I don't bash nVidia in an ATI discussion thread. I don't use out of context quotes to belittle others because I have no intelligent response. My stated mission on these forums are not to rile up fans of another company's video cards.

It's just funny you keep calling me a fanboy, especially in another thread in which my first post was in defense of nVidia. Even funnier was you took the opportunity to bash ATI when it was a discussion about nVidia only and until you butted your nose into the thread, it was free of the usually fanboy head butting.

Rollo used to defend ATI on occasion. I guess he was not biased after all. And you all burned him at the stake, shame on you.

Instead of discussing they article, you took a shot at me instead. Good luck with that credibility thing.

I have yet to see you jump on 5150joker, Morph, Ackmed etc. when they troll, yet if it's someone saying something pro NVIDIA all of a sudden you are a moral crusader.

No akugami, I would not say you are a fanboy, more of a hypocrite actually.

Excuse me? Could you point out where I made an ignorant troll topic? Didnt think so.

You claim that you have "higher standards". Care to tell us what your system is? Must be great, with your higher standards and all. Oh wait, its not.

This is a trolling topic, just as your all tRollo used to make. You've replaced him well. It is simply idiotic to try and pass off that NV has no availability issues, and that ATi does. Really, use some common sense. Im done with this thread, Im not going to bump it and give it any more posts. You read B3D, why not go post it there? I think we both know why. ;)

It's not the topic it's your post that had no substance what so ever. Where did I claim that NVIDIA was not having supply issues? Why is it sooo many ATi fanboys are in here posting nothing of merit at all? If you disagree with the article (and have proof) fine, say so. But to come in here and call names and dismiss and article that has merit, that is the mirror I was referring to.

Actually wreckage you've been ignoring the people citing a valid point about the article (discounting the X1800XT under $300) but you make a point to bring up OT issues about ATI's AF and bash ATI in general.

Actually it was joke who brought up AF. Good to see you call him on it.

Since you responded in a somewhat normal manner, Ill reply. And I didnt call any names.

The issues I have are, your topic only shows the negative ATi comments, and not the NV comments. And the post does the same. Its misleading, and very bias. The GTO is not supposed to be out yet, so why act as if its MIA? Its supposed to be, until the 31st. Again, common sense.

Techreport is flat out wrong. They use Price grabber to get prices, and availability. Which is foolish. They claim that they could only find the X1800XT 256MB in two locations. They obviously didnt look very hard at all. It took me 30 seconds to find another, MonarchPC (one of the biggest PC hardware resellers) has a retail HIS X1800XT 256MB for $325 after $50 MIR. They claim that only newegg carries the X1800XT 256MB. They need to get their facts straight before making fools of themselves. Im sure I could find more, if I looked. As I said, they obviously didnt. Which goes to where I said it was ignorant of them to say so.

As of right now, newegg has only ONE 7900G in stock, and for $30 over MSRP. And newegg has ZERO 7900GTX's in stock. Who has the availability problems? Anyone with an open mind can see. Neither is perfect, ATi is doing much better however, at least to me.

cliff notes:
-your bias posting about only ATi having problems
-techreports false reporting
-NV has more avail problems than ATi, yet you made it seem like ATi is the only one with a problem

/done

Notice he mentions the article's point about availability issues, he then adds his own personal commentary to the article as you did with your "Ouch."

Now you could have ignored his commentary which you obviously disagree with but instead you chose to post completely OT.

OK I'm getting bored interpreting this thread for you so I'm going to stop. If you want to yell or disagree with my analysis I'll gladly discuss this with you by PMs so we can get this thread back on topic.

Why is Wreckage posting about a card not being available "ignorant"?

Personally, I think the reason there are many X1900s available is few people are buying them.

Oh look it's the banned AEG troll Rollo under his new alias. Wreckage and Rollo in an anti-ATi thread, what a surprise! Two troll peas in a pod.

No akugami, I would not say you are a fanboy, more of a hypocrite actually.

Did Rollo use to always post negative ATI comments? Yes. Do I constantly post anti nVidia comments? No. And if you say yes, again prove it. My post on this board are not exactly secret. You post so much erroneous information some are half-truths, some are outright lies, and when anyone asks you for proof you go off on a tangent. I have posted more than once showing you posting out of context quotes to deride the person who is replying to you and disagreeing with you. You yourself have posted that you came on this forum to basically rile up ATI and be an nVidia fanboy, too lazy to look up your exact post.

My problem is not with anyone disagreeing with me and liking nVidia more. The problem is the fanboyism and complete and utter BS that fanboys post. There have been plenty of criticism of ATI and I have even posted in them and agreed with said criticism. If there's something about the competition you don't like, you can do say so in a mature fashion. If someone disagrees with you, then explain your reasonings in a mature fashion. Any time someone asks you for proof of your words or to clarify your stance and you can't do so you go off on a tangent. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree. Unfortunately, 90% of your post are hardly what I call mature. Basically if you started posting in a mature fashion and instead of taking every thread as an opportunity to bash ATI then I wouldn't have a problem with you.

As far as Ackmed, Morph and co. There are plenty of guys who jump on them, now, do I feel they are overboard at times? Sure. Truthfully I feel like I go overboard at times. I'm not above being stupid on occasion, and heck, I should probably respond less to your obvious goading. However, their actions are nowhere near as bad as yours. And since Rollo has left, the only one who has really gone overboard IMHO is 5150Joker. Most of the time the rest are still responding to fanboy posts like yours and a certain someone whose handle starts with a C.

Again, it's how you handle yourself in general that will determine how others treat you. If you want to be a fanboy idiot, that's how you will get treated. If you want myself and others to treat you as a mature individual then start acting like one.

I mostly post to defend ATI against things I feel are wrong. I don't defend ATI when I feel they are wrong. I do defend nVidia when I see something that I feel is wrong but strangely enough, while there are ATI fanboys here, they post less anti nVidia stuff as compared to the nVidia fanboys posting anti ATI stuff. Take that as you will. Done with this thread unless you can come up with something other than your usual anti ATI junk.

I guess when the 7800gtx and 7800gt was widely availale last summer few people were buying those too? Good availability != low demand, maybe they actually have enough supply to fill all the orders.

Big deal you found a driver bug in an SP game that 99% of people have already finished: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showpost.php?p=1334251360&postcount=37 I'd rather deal with a driver bug that is easily remedied than be stuck with permanent hardware limited subpar AF like the 7800/7900 series have. Not to mention having an old architecture that needs emergency bug ridden beta drivers just to prevent slideshow framerates in newer shader heavy games like Oblivion and FEAR - too bad they come at the cost of OpenGL performance. nVidia: Subpar AF + emergency release drivers needed for a subpar architecture. It's quite a win for ATi when a hardcore troll like you can only find one bug that is easily fixed vs. nVidia's known architectural flaws that lead to subpar IQ and poor performance in shader games that require special drivers.

This isn't a bug. This is just how Valve "decided" to implement a feature. Decided as in we'll buy a couple million copies of your game to give you some cash to help you get the whole Steam thing off the ground...now you give us some help with the spread in benchmarks.

This makes me about as happy as the whole "The way it's meant to be played!" BS.

"It seems that Valve automatically sets the cvar "cl_detaildist" to 1200 for the X1800 (and X850, likely all ATI cards) and to 1600 for the 7800GT/GTX.

I have yet to figure out how to set both to the same setting for benchmark purposes because it always reverts back to the preset setting when the map loads.

I just edited the cfg file, and made it "read-only". It seems to remember the value now.
Pitty i don't have any saved game to try it out. Anyone know where to find these on the net?"
