I've had terrible luck with them. My car is a 2010 and I've gone through 4 of them. 1 randomly spit out its guts when I took the cap off, 1 valve stem snapped off in the cold, and 2 others crapped out on their own.

I hate them with a passion.

Fortunately I found a guy online who sells me 4 at a time for cheaper than the dealership or tire places charge, but I hate that the initial factory ones were so unreliable...ah well, at least I have lots of spares now.

If it told you which tire had which pressure, it would have to be reprogrammed every time you rotate the tires.

Nope. My Jeep has a transponder in three of the 4 wheel wells that talks to the TPMS sensor in the wheel. You can move the tires all you want, it never loses track.
