I have a TPLINK TL-WR841N wireless router. It used to drop connections and I would power cycle and then it would start working again. But now it has started dropping connections literally every minute. I recently added two echo dots and a nest to the network. When I look at the router page I see there are 7 devices connected which is expected. I connected directly to the modem and got good connectivity. Are 7 connections too much for the router to handle?

Disconnect everything and start with one wired computer. Wait the time that it take for fast drop, if it Dropping with one device get a new Wireless Router, Otherwise keep adding Clients to the Network until you get to the braking point. At that time you will able to make an Educated decision..

If the above is too cumbersome take into consideration that you are using a Wireless Router that goes new for about $20. So it might be a time to get one of the more expensive Devices.
