TP X20 will not wake up with NIC in PCMCIA

(Hope it's ok to post here, since it is NIC related)

Ok, there has got to be a solution, but I can't find one.

We have a client with a TP X20 with a 3com 3CXFE575CT NIC in the pcmcia slot.

The computer is running Win98 SE.

The computer will go into suspend (if you close the lid or whatever) but when the NIC is in the laptop, it will hang when it tries to wake up. If you take the NIC out before waking it up, it still hangs. However, if the card is out before the computer goes into suspend, it will wake up OK.

I have reinstalled both the config utility and the battery maximizer wizard, as well as the newest drivers of 3coms site.

Argh, any ideas???
