  • Connect More Devices than Ever Before: Wi-Fi 6 technology simultaneously communicates more data to more devices using OFDMA and MU-MIMO while reducing lag dramatically.
  • Triple-Core Processing: The 1.5 GHz tri-core processor ensures communications between your router and all connected devices are smooth and buffer-free.
  • More Reliable Coverage: Achieve the strongest, most reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1500 as it focuses signal strength to your devices using Beamforming technology and four antennas.

I've had this router for almost a year now and it's rock solid and very easy to setup. :)

Tempting deal but I'm pretty satisfied with the Linksys AC1300 I have now ... covers my downstairs neighbor and I very well plus speed is decent.

What did you upgrade from & did you notice any speed bump?

I upgraded from an old Asus AC1200 router that only had 10/100 ports on it. I really needed the gigabit ports more than the wifi so it was a significant upgrade for me.

I probably wouldn't have even upgraded if i hadn't gotten a faster tier internet from 100mbps to 400mbps.

Mine is actually less than a year old and has GB ports .... both wifi and wired are substantially faster than my internet.

No reason at all then to change your router yet. My Asus was about 4 years old so i had my eyes open for a new one anyways.

I guess it could be okay if you need something very no-frills.

I had purchased the step-up from this model, the Archer AX1800. I wasn't particularly impressed; fairly limited configuration options, no real traffic shaping/priority options; and in the past (based on my Archer C9), TP-Link often abandons products fairly quickly by releasing new versions, and your left with no firmware updates. It also was disconnecting about a day after I set it up; ended up returning it and buying an Asus RT-AX3000 a month later. The Asus model has been working flawlessly since November and it has some very nice features and regular firmware updates.

Some people just want a basic wifi router with a low price. Besides they are obsolete so fast you will need to upgrade again.

True, but they don't go obsolete that fast. Most people also likely have no real reason to upgrade regularly.

The big update is 6Ghz band which is in Wifi 6e, that should be a bigger seller this year or next year when the prices come down.

And how many people will immediately have devices that can use that? It's the same thing when AC rolled out - there were benefits, but there likely wasn't wide adoption until people started getting devices that could use it.

Some people will update right away to get the 6ghz band. Most will take years to use it which will GREAT for the early adopters.

I have the TP-Link Archer AX50 (aka AX3000 as opposed to AX1500) and it works well for a basic consumer router. I might grab one of these AX1500s to use as an AP for the livingroom TV though.

It gets a strong enough WiFi signal from the router all the way on the other side of the house, but the WiFi in the TV is crap and slower than the ethernet on it. This could solve that.

I half-expected a refurb unit, but they're new at that price. Not bad for basic WiFi6.
