I remember when the Feds pushed to prevent manufacturers from allowing third party firmware (wrt, Tomato, etc.) from being installed on their consumer routers and TP-Link happily complied. Then the Feds reversed their position, but TP-Link? I recently bought a TP-Link AC1200 for $69 and was wondering if there were alternatives to the stock firmware.
I went out to what I believed was the DD-WRT/OpenWRT and Tomato sites, but something involving the Broadcom licensing prevented porting of the custom offerings to the unit. As always, my ignorance runs rampant here.
