i have a 04 tacoma 3.4L and im sick and tired of my crappy stock air box and want to either mod it with a deckplate (and an amsoil filter) or go all out and get a K&N FIPK intake. looking for recommendations and reasons why? also, when it rains, i know you can just close the plate on the deckplate but what about for the FIPK? does water get on/through the filter?

also, ive read some things about the oil from the FIPK filter screwing up the MAF sensor. has this happened to anyone in here? any other intake suggestions? thanks.

MAF type sensors can get fooked by oiled filters, yes. Depends on the manufacturer but happens ALOT on modified turbo Scoobies.

Are you after more power, cause it won't give you much?

just looking for a little bit more power and a nice growl without sacrificing any gas mileage. from what ive read, on average, intakes maintain or slightly increases your gas mileage. good and good.
