Hi

I have a 1999 Toyota Camry that I really love. I just moved and the house has a garage, but it's a bit of a squeeze to get the car in. It would be easier if I had those types of side mirrors that you can swing in... but after a ton of searching for toyota side mirrors for my model year, I can't seem to find the ones you can do that with. Does anyone know if I can buy different ones that may fit my car, or should I resign myself to possibly not using the garage? I can search further, but since I'm not sure of the terminology used, I feel like I'm kinda spinning my wheels (Get it? That was a humorous car reference!)

Thanks much!

Either the car was designed for folding side mirrors or it wasn't. Unless Toyota switched to folding ones on a later year (but same body), I'd say you're out of luck.

Technically you only need one mirror to be legal...just lop off the passenger side.

See if a newer model's will fit. A little bit of crazy glue and creativity should fix this problem.

Our 2009 Camry's don't have breakaway mirrors either, not sure if any year ever had them. Not sure why you would have trouble getting it in the garage though, the 2009 is a little bigger, and it still isn't even 6 feet wide. Most garage doors are at least 8.

The cars I have had with breakaway mirrors still doesn't save much space. maybe 3 or 4 inches a side, the mirror still takes up space when turned sideways.
