Toyota Prius--Holy

Theres a wee bit of a difference between parallel parking in traffic and backing into a parking space.

Looks like any other econo-crap sold today. What's the difference? Even has the requisite spoiler/wing on the back!

Electrically operated power steering sounds interesting, though. Drive by wire, eh? Almost scary.

Aren't they slowly moving everything to being electrically operated? Isn't that why they're gonna switch to a 48-volt system?

I wonder how long until we see a 48v system...

Think we'll see 12/48v hybrid vehicles for the first few years of introduction?

Electrically controlled steering is pretty over the top, IMO. You won't have any feedback from the road at all. Maybe it won't matter much, but that seems a little risky to me.

it does sound risky, just like if you were to use an electronic brake system. what if the power dies? you can't steer or stop? no thanks.

where does it say "parallel park"? i just see where it says it helps the car guide itself when reversing into spots. maybe thats just like mall parking.

I do, quick escape 🙂

Usually, I back in all the time into any parking space.
