They are probably last.
They dont sell that many cars.
They make a lot of profit however on the cars they sell.

I wonder when Ford will start brining over more of its small cars? At least bring over the Euro Focus! The upgraded interior alone makes it worthwhile.

The focus is getting refreshed 2008 or 2009.

On a similar note by 2011 the only cars ford will probably have that will be RWD will be the mustang. Every other car announced is FWD(and a very few will have AWD option)

This on top of GM moving enmasse to RWD, dosent spell out that good of a picture for ford. Hopefully ford can get its act together, otherwise i'd be out of a job. :(

good for toyota though. Even though I wokr at a ford dealership, my daily driver is still a toyota(I know I'm horrible, but I am looking at picking up a last gen mustang for cheap).

They're refreshing the old one. Ford seems content on not bringing the upgraded platform over from Europe (for the Focus, before someone points out the obvious ;))

Does many of their sales fit under ford?

Mazda has been stuck in the rut of 200k total sales per year for the lasyt 10 years. Hyundai/Kia has been growing pretty fast.

Mazda caters to a smaller group. Kia is more mainstream(value brand) while the ZoomZoom campaign by mazda does not necessarily appeal to everyone.

Mazda3 is mainstream. Mazda6 is also mainstream.
Mazda MPV is one of the best minivans. MX-5 is the best selling roadster/sports car.
Kia isn't even mainstream.. it's just junk that no one would want to be caught dead in.

Apparently more people want to be caught alive/dead in a Kia than in a Mazda so what were you saying again? :p

MPVs are not best sellers at any rate and neither is the Miata. Roadsters tend to boom 1st year of a new design, ad then fizzle until a new redesign.

Miatas built:
1990: 51636(more than half of which were red 29195 to be exact)
2003: 12672

In total since 1990, there have been a little over 300k miatas built total. Not a big number by any means. Toyota sells 450k camrys a year.

Also Mazda 3s are not mainstream. They are nowhere as common as say even a hundai Sonata or Toyota Matrix. The 6s are the same story.

Yeah...because the majority of Toyotas sold are RWD
