Hey speaking of Toyota, can anyone direct me to a site with info/pics of the new Toyota V12 powered NSX-killer (its codename is Car 195 or something...)

:Q Are you serious?? I wouldn't think it would take a V12 to kill an NSX, but it still sounds cool.

Yea, isn't an nsx a v6? I think that kind of car deserves a v8. :)

I believe it's an inline 6, 3.2l? Probably blown and boosted, not worth the price. I'll take a used Viper for that kind cash, thanks. :D

The current NSX has a n/a 290 hp 3.2 liter V6. Yeah it doesn't get that many sales now, because the design is over a decade old.

Only 290hp for that price??

That's nucking futs. You can get the MKIV Supra Twin Turbo for significantly less, and it puts out 330 HP if I'm not mistaken. Z28/SS Camaros are cheaper yet, also boasting over 300 HP. How come the NSX retails for so much? Isn't it upwards of $60k?

The NSX is kinda like a porshe, it doesnt need huge displacement or insane horsepower to be really fast. It is all about refinement. Having had the pleasure of driving a NSX once, it is amazing the amount of tuning for handling is done straight fromt he factory. It also redlines at 8500 if i remember correctly. I have never driven a porshe 911 or carrera but i did drive a boxster, and it was a lot like hte NSX, but no where near as fast(at least it didnt feel like it. I also only took the boxster on streets, i took the NSX on the highway. I was doing 95 before I know what happened. Damn my friends uncle.

They retail 90K these days, but supposedly you can bargain them down alot because the current model is a lame duck.

yeah it's definitely on the expensive side these days and the design is old. The frame, suspension and motor are all built from aluminum, so the production isn't cheap and it's not really meant to be a straight line car, handling is the NSX's strong point.

Also I should mention the NSX doesn't use brute force to achieve acceleration, since it's midengined and traversely mounted, it more effectively delivers existing power to the ground than traditional front engined, rear wheel drive cars.

AHA! My friend just told me that spy drawings of Car 195 are in September's R&T magazine. Yes, it does have a V12 engine (carry over from their flagship JDM sedan--I forget what its called.) Yes, the Acura NSX (even the new one) will only have a V6. Hence, the term NSX KILLER (or MURDERER, SLAUGHTERER...whatever your fancy is.) The mag shows a car that looks like a Ferrari with Toyota MR2-style headlights.
