I was bored and came across some racing storys just for reading pleasure. The Matrix isn't so bad.

I believe it was the V6 model with a 5-speed about a 97'....
In first we were pretty much neck and neck until I hit 6K. Just then I heard him catch second as my VVTL-i kicked in. Blazing up to 8200rpm I watched as I pulled away from him. Then I threw down into second with a cherp of the tires. 5500 approaching 6K then VVTL-i kicks in again now about a full car length between us.... Shifting into 3rd the race was over he slowed down and turned around.... Victory....
My little 4 banger Vibe (same as matrix) smoked that bitch!
Civic Si (American Si)
My budy has a 2001 Civic SI coupe. He did some mods to it (new exhaust and intake) and wanted to try a race. So far, I've only upgraded the exhaust. Anyhoo, we're at a red light, reving it up waiting for green. The light changes and I miss the start at this point he's about half a car length ahead of me. I have it floored and it kicks into VVTL-i. I start to overtake him. I blow by him by the time I'm getting close to red line in second. After 3rd gear all I see are his headlights
We tried it again later and I didn't miss the start. Let's just say he was done.
BTW, I have the 6speed XRS.

Tonite while taking a nice little drive with my new XRS (only 300 miles so far), I decide to cruise along interstate 95 for a little bit because i cant resist getting my XRS moving a little.
Low and behold I see headlights roaring up to meet me and think "hmm..civic si?" Well since I have not reached the 1000 mile break in period, I really dont want to see what its like over over 6000 revs yet (i have done it once). Anyway, this civic pulls up and I realize its a EX after i get over to come up side by side. I start thinking "EX, i can take that w/o going over 6000rpm." SO i give a glance and drop from 6th to 5th going to 4200 RPm.. The civic tried to match, but it was all over before it started.. I finally reached about 5800 and shifted to 6th. By then the fun was already over
So first civic down... many more to go

beat a GT-S Auto with my Xr 5speed
5 times, it's really easy, if you're having trouble beating anything, find someone who owns an auto gt-s, you *will* beat it

Pulled up along side a protege 5 on the highway the other night.
I didn't downshift right away, I wanted to see what he had. so I left it in 5th for a bit. It was about even at 70-80, but I hadn't even dug out VVTL-i. So, I slam it into 4th and lets just say, it was over.
