Toyota is lagging behind in sports cars.

They have the Celica and Corolla S, and nothing to compare to the Nissan or Acura. Sure they have a coupe in the Lexus line, but that is probably beyond most the reach of most people. They seriously need to come up with a sports car to compete against the Z.

I don't see myself purchasing a mid-end ($30,000 range) sports coupe from Toyota... something about the way Toyota has developed their brand with me... not the biggest fan

They have that MR2 which I guess is the closest thing but even then it's not attractive when next to the 350Z, RX-8, G-35

><GG)

While I do agree, Toyota has also furthered and established the developement of their TRD linup - something Nissan and Honda have yet to do. Instead of a singular sports car, Toyota has persued performance additions to their whole lineup and made them available to their customers.

Great so you can get a TRD chick car, a TRD truck, TRD.. wait that's it. Where's the sports car?

Toyota is rather boring right now... but not for long. I dont think they joined F1 to sell more Camrys to younger people. At least I hope not. 🙁

I was talking more along the lines of the superchargers and engine upgrades that are available for nearly every Toyota model.

uhh that volta thing isnt the next gen supra.... last time i checked supras didnt run up to 100k plus...

Over on the scionlife.com forums, theres a pic of a blue tC that is being delivered to TRD. When it gets there, it's gonna get the 3MZ-FE Camry V6 engine swapped in and a S/C. Should be good for about 265HP, if not more.
