Toyota/Honda clearance that ends on 9/2

A lot of ad lately for Toyota, Honda and many other brands that currently have clearance sales, which ends on 9/2. I'm planning to get a 2003 car, I'm moving this month and don't want to buy a new car in rush without much shopping. Do you think there will be more clearance on 2003 cars after 9/2? Or I should take advantage of this clearance now?

im sure they will still have plenty of cars after 9/2 they just want people to come in. My uncle just bought a new 2003 Honda Accord LE for around 17k

Most new cars come out after September. I would wait after September for a better deal for '03 car. Price for '03 cars will continue to fall.

Honda doesn't want to admit this I'm sure...but I think a few dealerships still had 2002 Accords (old body style) on the lots up through June...I think they've all been liquidated to AutoNation and CarMax, etc.

Hope so since I probably going to buy it in mid Sept after I settled down in new place 🙂

wjones - I'm in the same boat. I'm at a job temporarily right now, trying to get a permanent position here. That's the only way my parents will allow me to purchase a new car. Glad to know they'll still have 03 cars 🙂

Yes there will be clearances on '03 models after 9/2 however don't wait too long.

The best time to buy a new car is at the end of the month towards the end of the year.

So if you can, buy towards the end of September around Sept 27th.

hm..my gf just bought a 2003 accord lx for $17,800 + tax, etc. at new york city.

Nice price, that would have easily been $1,500 more a few months ago.

Ya, I also heard that alot of car companies have more excess inventory than usual and so now's the time to buy.

Finally, done with the moving, went shopping for car yesterday and bought a 2003 Accord LX 4dr in bay area for $17700 + tax & fee in 30 minutes after the test drive. Damn CA 8.25% tax, it costs $1460.25, I wish I was in Montana (used to live there), tax free.

The dealer mentioned about extended warranty (HondaCare), do you guys think it is worthy? I mean Honda cars should be realiable but things do happen. I got a quote online for 7year/100k miles/0 deductible at $910 but didn't buy it (the dealer wants $1650 with 50 deductible!!!).

Good choice on the car. I'd skip the HondaCare warranty though, it's a rip off. My parents got it for their 2002 Honda Accord but I managed to talk them out of it and they cancelled. If you just do regular maintainance on your Accord there will be no major problems.
