I bought a rav4 during the 0 percent financing + compliment service for 2yrs. They scheduled the first service this sat and I missed it. Tried to reschedule it today and just for curiosity sake checked to make sure it was gonna be no charge. They said nope, I'm not in the system for free maintenance! So I called Toyota to check what the deal was, they said the dealer never faxed the registration for my lexus, so they couldn't approve the free maintenance. So I had to refax the paperwork and now I'm waiting for conformation. What's total bs is that I remember the salesman getting up and saying, "I'm gonna go fax this to Toyota".

long story short. make sure you have conformation letter from toyota before scheduling service or it won't be free!

yeah, you qualified for 2 years free maintenance if you owned or leased a lexus when you bought a new toyota!

haha i get it. I needed a bigger car that has awd and can haul more stuff (surfboard, snowboard, two pitbull-boxers) than an IS. Don't knock the v6 on a rav4, I can cook the tires from a stop! :) hehe

Haha i think one dumbass salesman made a clerical error. Im thinking this was the exception rather than the rule... I actually saved a bunch of money on MY car because I had a rookie salesman and I worked him hard and he wasnt used to the ropes yet, ended up dropping the cost of the car to like under 7 grand when it was stickered at $8999, i paid $7500 out the door with tax title and licence. Was friggin awesome.

Anyone else have this issue though? if so I'd say it might be something to watch for, those shady people at toyota not faxing over thier forms. But just one person? He prolly sat them down, or someone topped him and asked him a question and just forgot to fax them, innocent mistake, they are fixing it right? Or no?

Lexus should have no relevance here. Toyota has been giving free maintenance for two years on ALL Toyotas nationally to my knowledge, no mention of Lexus ownership relevant at all.

I think you would not have had to pay; I would have made the dealership cover it and spoken to a manager.
