Well i've been looking for a used car mainly the accord and civic and stumbled upon the camry solara. it has a nice 200 hp v6, quiet ride and room in the back even though its a coupe. anyone had any experience with this car? i checked out some prices and found a 99' for $10,500 with 32,000 miles. how does the insurance cost for the solara compare to that of an accord? if its pretty close this looks like the car i'll be looking for but if its high than i guess it would be a no go

The accord has a 240hp V6 but I dunno if you'll find a 99 for $10,500.

If anything the insurance on the Solara would be lower than on the Accord coupe, I'd imagine.

The new Accords have a 240 hp V6, but any used one would not. A 1999 I believe would have 200 hp in the V6 version.

You should go and test drive both. I did and I have to say that the Accord is a much much much nicer ride with a comparable price. Even with the 200 horses, the Solara still feels sluggish and underpowered in my opinion. But then again you might think differently. I would prefer the Accord though.

I have never test drove or owned a Camry Solara but I would get an Accord Coupe before a Solara.

Even in the used car market I'd still get an Accord coupe before a Solara coupe.
