Toy Story 3

Anyone enjoyed Toy Story and Toy Story 2 ? Looks like Toy Story 3 will be out soon hoping it can be at least as good but doubt it. Third sequels have a difficult time being better than either.

Nothing is known about the story at this time. The release date is 2010 at the earliest.

I found the first one boring and skipped the second.

Honestly, I'm a little tired of the animated work Pixar has put out lately. It's all the same cutesy crap taking place in a miniaturized world. I know that's the Disney influence speaking, but I've had a very hard time lately not yawning and drifting off during one of their films.

I like Pixar's stuff, but I kind of feel the same way. I just have no desire to watch some of there newer movies. More than likely I'll enjoy them, but I'm just not excited anymore.

There was a rumor TS3 was in the works, months ago, and Pixar squashed the initial rumor pretty quickly. Plus, Pixar has weighed in critically on Disney's recent tenencies to sequelize their characters and stories to an outrageous degree. Based on this, I'd be somewhat suprised if this got the greenlight.

EDIT: A little research turned up the fact that Pixar did, in fact, shoot down an earlier iteration of TS3 in the works, by Disney, when they took over the animation group there. This latest effort seems to be born of Pixar directly.

Still, I'm a little leery of the concept of another. It doesn't seem in Pixar's character, either. They've railed on this very thing (sequels being overdone and ultimately cheapening the characters) in the past...

QFT. The Incredibles was an awesome movie...fantastic sound as well. I use that as a demo movie actually.

As far as 3D, Toy Story 3 will be released in 3D for the theatrical release, but guess what? Toy Story 1 and 2 will also be shown in 3D, released during the same year but in order of release: so the first TS, then some time, then TS2 (remember, both in 3D), and then the wide release of TS3 in 3D. I'm assuming non-3D versions will be shown, but I may be wrong.
