If it was posted, as claimed, as early as 1997 then it would seem to lend some credibility to his "research" claims.

Outside of members of law enforcement, however, research toes the line of obsession.

I dunno what to think of all this.

Well, he has been a long-time crusader in crimes against children.

But, this definitely is a case of very bad judgment.
 
If some script kiddie starts a worm that includes child porn and it spreads itself worldwide, infecting tens of millions of email accounts, do we all go to jail?

I know it's not the same as what happened here, but from reading the responses of these "child protection agencies" or whatever the hell they are, even stumbling across it sounds like it's enough to convict you.
