I am going to be towing a honda civic about 120 miles. I am going to be using a F-150 supercrew and was wondering if the ball on my bumper would be enough for the car dolly, or if i should use a truck with an actual hitch.

Tounge max capcity is 500#
Trailer Max capicity is 5,000#

any info is appriciated :)

You'll only have the front of the car on the dolly so you should be fine....

Not to mention the weight will be directly over the wheels of the dolly, so the weight on the bumper shouldn't be very much.

Both actually. Ford has their owners manuals online.

Use the hitch on the bumper, it will be fine. Does your F150 have the 4.6 or 5.4? I just bought a 97 with the 5.4 and I'm lovin' it.

That only matters for tounge weight. Exceeding the Gross towing weight (weight of what youa re towing + trailer) will stress the driveline components beyond what they are designed, and/or bend that bumper like tin foil. It doesn't matter if there is no weight on the ball if you are pulling a 10k trailer. If you slam on the brakes, the trailer is not going to stop until the tounge has been pushed even with the rear axle.

Saying that, you are well within the design limits of your towing vehicle and current equipment.
