Towing capacity of a 96' Dodge Ram...

I need to pull a trailer of concrete that I'm guessing weighs about 2 tons(trailer and 1.5 yards of concrete). I found this google search saying that the towing capacity is 8,000lbs on a 2003. wondering is anyone know how well my 96 1500 would pull it, and if I would need power brakes. GOing to call the concrete place and ask them later, but looking for some preliminary thoughts.
THanks

edit: it has the 360 in it too. Short bed extended cab
edit #2: Just called the concrete co. and they said a half ton will pull it fine, and no need for power brakes...a 1500 is a 1/2 ton right..

yes use a trailor brake unit for a load like that... a 96 with the 360? I would say it's rated for about 7000~ lbs

Thanks, going to see if I can borrow my friends he has power brakes installed. Of course he only has the 318...

I agree with the above, when you pass 5000LBs you should have a trailer brake unit. Installing them is cake (there's a blue plug under the dash). And you'll be at, if not just a little bit beyond the limit. (unless Nissan rated it, then you'd have a 14,000LB capacity)
