I've bought several and still own a Lasko tower fan, but they are known for being very difficult to clean. The rotating fan blades tend to get caked up with dust over time, and Lasko designs the unit to be disposable. Depending on the model, you can disassemble it but it takes some effort.

Just about every room in my house has a HEPA filter air cleaner in it now. They mostly blow air UP with an intake on the front or bottom of the unit, but they all catch pollen, dust, etc...so they're double duty.

I prefer ceiling fans to really move air. In my largest rooms, I have a few of them and can use them to really circulate air quickly.
