Touit lens problem

I just got a Sony A6000 + 16-50 kit lens + Touit 12mm. The Touit was working fine for the first few days. Today I took it out in cold weather (2C) and after a few photos it basically stopped working, the screen would go black when I press the shutter button.

I've narrowed the problem down to the contact points on the lens, I think: if I press the shutter, and then ROTATE the lens ever so slightly, it will suddenly take the photo. My kit lens has no problems whatsoever.

What caused the Touit to suddenly stop working, if the contacts between cam/lens were solid before?

Never heard of that particular make before.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts? Or simply take it back to where you got it from.

If it doesn't work after a quick clean I would really take it back for a warranty replacement.

My best guess is that the sudden cold warped something in the lens' electronics. Which obviously should not happen at 2°C.

sounds like something is stuck in the thread of the Zeiss lens, keeping it from properly mounting onto the camera. Or the contacts got loose. at 2°c, nothing like this should be happening.

It's a fancy lens. If you can't easily fix it, take it back to the place you got it for replacement.
