Tough one: Best memory MP3 player for gym < $150???

Please help my friend out. She is looking for a solid state MP3 player for the gym but does not want to pay a lot. It's got to be small enough to fit on the wrist but cheap. Tall order?

Only problem with that is that there is no display. I would like to have at least a display if I bought an MP3 player.

There is an RCA one at CircuitCity... my friend bought it for working out and says it is awesome.

Another vote for the Muvo. Best one out of all the ones I tried when I was shopping for an MP3 player in Asia.

I third that. The quality isn't superb, but you probably won't notice at the gym. It's as small as a cigarette lighter and is about $100 for a 128MB one. I also agree with Spac3d that it sucks that it doesn't have a display.

Another great thing about it is you can put files on it and use it on computers with USB, like a floppy.

I had one but my sister took it from me.

The Rio division was bought out by D&M Holdings, who kept the buisness going, albeit only selling the S series now in America. As I understand it, they're selling an expanded product line(including a MuVo sized device) in Japan however.

I would get that MP3 player, but it doesn't have FM radio. I'm looking for a small, solid state MP3 player that has FM radio. So, I decided to get the Rio one. Does anyone know any other players that have both mp3 and fm radio, in a solid state?

http://www.frontierlabs.com/ makes a simple mp3 player. the nex2e was fairly popular among cf card users, and wanted something cheap. it has no internal storage, and requires the use of compact flash cards. the nex ia has an fm tuner.

check out the mpio FL100. It's small, sleek, has FM radio, and is expandable via SD memory. You can tell it's pretty popular since amazon rarely has it in stock (you can get it off ebay too).

I've had mine for about a month now, and it's been great. An added bonus is that if you have korean mp3's, it'll display the characters.

Pick up a Creative Nomad off of Ebay. Great MP3 player. Takes Smart Media though, so you max out at 128MB.

creative nomad IIc w/ 64MB built in is under $100 i think.. and slap a 128 SM (cheap on FT or after rebates).. 192 there

but for the creative nomads... anyone know how to use one WITHOUT having to install their live software crap? My friend was trying to get WMP9 to detect his nomad II (not C), but it was failing all over.
