Touchpad works, But Without Keyboard

I fried my old toshiba satellite laptop about a year ago and all of a sudden got an ambition to fix it. (Now that motherboard prices dropped) So now I have replaced the motherboard and got most of the hardware fully functioning (except for a usb port). I connected the touch pad and buttons with it and it worked fine. I then to put the keyboard back into it's hole. I went to check the keyboard and it worked fine. I started trying to browse the computer to fully test function-ability before putting it back together. Then I noticed during that when I moved my finger trying to move the cursor it would move very slowly almost as if the frame rate was 5 fps. So I lift up the keyboard, then the touch pad worked normally, I put the keyboard back down and it lagged again. Now as I was typing this it started working normally again. Just wanted to get opinions on this before I completely put it back together.
Hopefully this wasn't too confusing.. I tend to try to describe vividly.
Thanks, Tyler.

Very odd development... When i put one of my hands near the top of the keyboard while moving the touch pad, it works normally without lag, otherwise it lags.? What is this crap.

Check the cables and screws. It sounds like the keyboard is pushing something related to the touch pad out of place enough to cause problems.
