W00t! We hurdled the California Redwoods last night and have about a 600 cand lead on them now, and our production for the day is only 16 cands short of the mighty Dutch Power Cows and we should pass them up today in the daily! WOW!

Welcome to the newest members Blackflagg, cduchesne, bfour, Merlocka,AndyJones and ThomasL!! So Glad to have you aboard!! :D

Over 7100 Cands brought over to the team by AndyJones could pull us to 12th by Tommorrow night!

Welcome to the team Blackflagg and cduchesne :D

And great job to the rest of the team in helping us stomp to #14 and now it looks like we are stomping our way up to the top of the daily production ranks...everyone knows what that means right....only a matter of time before we are #1 in the world for total production.

Go TeAm

I wonder what we will have to increase our daily output to in order to pass them by the end of the year! I think we now have a new goal. :Q Lets be number 1 by the end of the year! :D

Rank Name Cands Confs

1 Team AnandTech 1,217 24,340

2 Dutch Power Cows 1,103 22,060

It just keeps getting better. If I just could get my D2OL to work we would get another 60 to that number.

Goals are good Remy, but we need a realistic one. DPC is about 350000 candidates ahead of us, so we would need to produce over 5100 candidates more than them to catch them by the end of the year.

On the other hand, I think we can beat Team Hardcoreware by 1000 candidates a day, thus we can catch them and take over #5 by the end of the year.

Lets see roughly 9 weeks left in the year and 9 teams ahead of us that we need to catch and pass.

One team a week...now there is a good and achievable goal. Especially if all the new members stick with us and we pick up a few of the Seti folks involved in the october race...this is very doable:)

Now I like this talk. I like the goal of passing Hardcoreware by the end of the year.

Lets try not to talk about recruiting people from other projects. We should focus on recruiting people not already involved in DC.

I was referring to a few of the folks that had started crunching for D2OL right before the October race started...namely migroo and DjsnairdA. I thought they had said they would have a few machines back on D2OL after the Seti October race.

I've got a Linux box that would probably be great on D2OL. The problem is that, while it's networked to my Windows box, I haven't figured out how to route anything through Windows to the internet. Can SSH tunneling do it somehow? Is there another (free) program or proxy that will work? Or is there a way to flush by copying files like in ECCp?

I won't start until the October race finishes, so I've got at least that long to figure it out.

Thanks!

Hmmm. Why not setup the Linux machine to handle all internet traffic? I know Linux can do it.......

Because the Linux machine doesn't have a modem, and I don't want to bother with setting one up in Linux. I might do that after November 1 when we get wireless ethernet installed, if I can find out how. (And how to set up a firewall on there; I've been running ZoneAlarm.)

Thanks for the welcome guys, but im not sure if im gonna keep running the D2OL app. It really seems to bog down my 1700+ XP. Is there any way to tweak it to work like ECCP? ECCP didnt really bog me down so i could still use my PC and run the app!

Thats strange the D2OL app hasn't slowed my computer at all. In fact I think you are the first person I've seen mention that problem with D2OL.

Same here.

I have an xp1800, p4 1.8 and p3 600 all running it with no noticeable slowdowns.

Do you still have the fancy gui showing? If so, close that sucker, just hit the X in the corner. It will still be running, you can see the icon in the systray.

If you go to the preferences there is an option to not open the GUI while it is running.

There are also three ways to run the client controller: java, cli and file-based modes. Read about them in the file <D2OL Home>/D2OL/README.TXT.
