anyone know how much something like this

runs?

it's just a 15" touchscreen with a keyboard/mouse... and a box to hold a PC (not included)...

I can't find pricing online - i've contacted a dealer in TN, but haven't rec'd a reply.

thanks.

I've seen products like this before.. over at http://www.mp3touchscreens.com/step4.htm

i built a touchscreen jukebox already.. but there's a guy on craigslits selling 3 of those kiosks - they would be nearly perfect for a jukebox. but he wants 400 each. I'm thinking that's a bit high (probably near what he paid for them).

After installing a PC (anywhere from 100-150), it would be hard for me to turn around and make much money off of it.

They are Stained Oak. Go price some stained Oak pedastals and see how much they cost. Oak furniture is expensive. If they were particle board or pine maybe they would cost less. Go to a furniture store and see what things cost.

Most Kiosks are custom built by companies that specialize in this sort of thing.

I think it may be possible to get a podium for a couple hundred at some kind of country style craft fair or something like that. You can probably find a custom cabinet maker that can make you something a little cheaper than $1,000.00. The rest is a screen, and a computer and some speakers and the touchscreen software and screen overlay.

Samsung has some TV's out that use a remote and they have apps that work on TV's now. I wonder if you can just program an I-pad to do the same thing. Call it an I-Pad Musical Docking Station.
