Shame it's WHFB is all I can say.

Much more of a 40k fan since the early 90's.

I always thought Total War would be interesting with non-historical troops and settings. However I no longer buy their games as it's just too much of a time sink for me.

I've been playing WHFB for 23 years (and am sad they just killed it :(), so I'm excited for this.

Plus, I think WHFB translates to the Total War engine extremely well. Much better than 40k.

Good way to see the graphics unless they pull a fast one like every other game developer and not deliver what they show us. :whiste:

My biggest complaint is being able to render great scenes in engine is no where near indicative of what game play will look like.

Welp, I just filled my cubicle with nerdgasm, despite knowing the game won't be anything like that.

Any/all Creative Assembly preview-videos, gameplay, and/or features lists just make me scoff since R2. I'm sure that will come off as pessimistic, but I'm just trying to be realistic as far as my opionion is concerned at least.

The game could be very nice, but game mechanics for their last few games have been less than, or much less than what was shown prior to, or said to be being included in the final product.

**as much as I'm put off by the handling of R2 and Attila, I really am enjoying Empire alot. I guess I can look past its issues because(imo) it has so much content(though the mechanics can be off sometimes). The game felt like a full experience rather than R2's slimmed down to "simple as can be" historical experience.

I'll watch from afar in hope they've turned a corner on the issues that have plagued their titles of the recent past.

tldr-NO trust in CA of present, but their past games leave me with some hope this one will deliver.

Is this on DX12?

Also that doomdiver being able to control it in first person is definitely the kind of direction I hope games like this go.

I also prefer WH40K instead (my avatar might be a giveaway), but I do agree with your statement; and am actually pleased that they went with Warhammer Fantasy Battle for a Total War game. I think that the WH40K setting(s) would better fit in games of the genre it's been portrayed in already, mainly RTS's (not like TW) and third-person action (such as Space Marines). If Creative Assembly were to give a go to the WH40K universe within the Total War type of game-play they'd definitely also have to create a [probably new] system for space warfare as well (and I do mean warfare, MASSIVE scale warfare, not just two measly fleets of five frigates on each sides firing a bunch of missiles; but more along the lines of what we saw in Total Annihilation or Supreme Commander, only in space).

It was only logic (and fitting) to go with WHFB. To be honest, however, I'd rather see WH40K games in other creative hands (yes, pun intended). In the end TW:WH is a Creative Assembly game. Since Rome 2's absolutely disastrous release state AND considering how long we had to wait for the game to not only be playable AND stable but also mostly bugs-free and balanced (essentially the game was released about a year and a half earlier than it should have been) then ultimately I can't help myself but remain cold and uninterested for the time being.

The trailer was sort of fun to watch though.
