Total War install problems

I bought/downloaded total war 2 on D2D without any problems. I just bought Kingdoms (the discs) and when I try to install it says must install total war 2 to play. How can I get around it not reading the original game?

i was just told that the Total War 2 D2D version is not compatible with the Kingdoms disc set...yet on the D2D page it says Kingdoms is compatible with the D2D version of TW2 or the TW2 disc set. Why is this not the other way around? Kinda pissed about this if I have to buy the game again.
